Still trying to get a solar tracker running. But I've not used the chip I read about. Been trying to get an opto coupler to work. Fried the 2 I had so not much luck thier LOL. Going to scrounge around the garage and find the chip they recomend using. I do believe I have one out of a printer that should work.
Oh got my Basic Stamp Homework Board to work was a programming error on my part, instead of a bad board. And been reading about the new chip on the web a adrino which is cheaper and easy to access with other applications, using Flash, Visual basic, .Net, etc.
I do believe this will be my next step towards automation of garage to pc. Lots of sofeware and hardware for this chip being useing in robotics that can be easly used for automation also.

Scored some some goodies for the the garage.
Got an old Playstation arcade controll box BIG buttons and Control stick
Almost got the Stamp working till it loops then stops talking with tech about it. Hope it's not bad...

They say that when you close the loop on a sytem it will eventually stop running. So would it be better to use one system to power another?
   Anyway here is my thoughts:
   • using maybe something like the Lloyd friiction engine
   • powering a steam engine
   • operating a Veljko 2 stage osilator
   • with the 2 stage osilator powering the Lloyd friction engine +

Just some things I rattle around in my head. The 2 stage osilator has shown 2 to 1 energy.
Well anyway the steam engines look cool with all the exposed moving parts. I just like seeing thing operate compared to an inclosed engine. Like the walking beam stirling engines, or the newcomen, Watt, locomotive and Grasshopper beam steam engines.

Mambo LogoToday we are testing the 3 battery system that John Bedini has on his site. It does charge a battery in this system using a small 12v lamp as a load.
But I have found that replacing the lamp with a small dc motor the reverse happens. Maybe more testing is needed as this is just what happens at first.

Babington Waste Oil Heater

Well This or the friction heater guess we'll see witch one wins. Will depend on parts collecting.
Although the friction steam idea of Lloyds could power a generator with just water and wood. estimated wood consumption is a cord of hard wood would last about 5 years. That is a long time $75 worth of wood.

But the babington could do the same with waste oil. So building a steam genertor will be the same for both heat ideas for the garage. Awesome.....

Collecting parts to build a Babington Waste Oil heater. This style of heater I should be able to start using a car ignition coil set up. Hoping to get a test in sometime soon.

Thinking about using a induction heater to heat up my waste oil on start up. Should be much faster to get temps up to operating level.

But I ran across a friction heater idea that Lloyd came up with that looks promising. Using steam
to it creates to power a steam engine to run the unit.
